If you are interested in Saving Carluke from Planners and Developers you will want to visit http://scarl.co.uk today. We are a small but very active group of residents who are working hard to help citizens of Carluke, Braidwood and Law preserve our green belt. We have been opposing the Council's Local and Structure Plans (with some success) since 2005. Right now the Finalised Local Plan is out for Counsultation. If you want to stop the building of 1,800 houses in the local area (a 25% increase in population) you need to act now, before September 14th 2006. Filling in forms is no fun, but, whether your concern is preserving a decent environment to raise your kids, losing £10k+ off the value of your house, the fate of local wildlife, excessive traffic, or where you are going to walk the dog , its a good investment.
