PUP IDOL HEAT ONE - THE WINNER

Heat one drew an amazing 249 votes, and the runaway winner, with 94 of those votes, was Puppy Number 6.

I hope you`ll continue to vote in the next heat! It starts on Sunday, as soon as I get the pictures on.

DISCOVER DOGS AGAIN

Thanks to those who have already volunteered for Discover Dogs at Crufts - but we can always use more people and, of course, dogs. (I told my Marcus that he would be doing his duty on the Discover Dogs stand, and he gave me a look that plainly said - "Couldn`t I help with Discover Bitches instead?" )

If you - or your dog - would like to get involved, just let me know!

PUP IDOL - HEAT ONE

These are the first sixteen pictures in the Pup Idol competition. As you can see, they are not exactly in order! Blogger and Picasa are really having an off day and refuse to do that for me.....well, it`ll just make it all the more interesting! They are all clearly numbered anyway.

Remember - you are voting for the CUTEST puppy picture. Show quality doesn`t come into it. You are looking for the "Awww!" factor.

You have one week to vote. The second heat will be posted next weekend.....

Start voting, folks!

MANCHESTER - THE JUDGE`S REPORT

I was delighted to be able to judge at Manchester, and with such a splendid entry too! Thanks to everyone who entered under me.
Overall quality was very good, especially in the bitches, and I was pleased to see a lot fewer exhibits with overlong muzzles, light eyes, fluffy or stand-off coats and lack of muscle tone than when I last judged at this level . Movement on the whole was good, and presentation, with very few exceptions, excellent.

MPD (11, 2 abs)

1.Orchard`s PANSPAYON C`EST LA VIE
Sparkling little B/W , attractive head with large ears and fringes, good reach of neck, excellent rear angulation and soundness on the move.
2.Mason`s THOUGHTS OF STARDOM AT AMSEMA
Slightly stronger than 1. Tri with very good overall conformation and a lot of style – sweet head and expression, good angulation giving lots of drive on the move.
3.. Roe`s SUNSHOO IMAHOT SHOT

PD (5)

1. Joyce`s CALAJOY ROBBIE MACFLUFF
Strikingly elegant b/w dog with correctly proportioned head, well-set large ears, good reach of neck, excellent in construction with good angulation, level topline and fine single coat, sound and true in movement. Lots of ring presence. BPIB, and a strong contender for RDCC.
2. Roe`s SUNSHOO IMATO HOT TO HANDLE
Finely made shaded r/w with excellent ears, and fringing and good head proportions, nice coat qaulity and attractive outline. Just lost out to 1 on movement.
3. Orchard`s PANSPAYON ATLANTIS

JD (14 2 abs)

1.Munroe & Olding`s KIRKCHASE LOVED REGARDLESS BY PAPPLEWICK
Dainty and attractive b/w with fine bone, abundant correct silky coat, refined head, large ears with profuse and super fringes, sure and straight in movement. Well-shaped head with appealing expression. Needs to settle at times.
2. Morrell and Teague`s TEMELORA JUST MAGIC
A tri of quite different type, stronger and well-proportioned, with a lovely outline. Good angulation giving a lot of drive on the move. Plenty of coat and a lovely plume.Level topline, and good tailset complete the picture. A promising young dog.
3. Cochrane`s TUTYAK WILLIE WONKA

PGD (22, 2 abs)

1. Peters` BEVERSTON TRI AS YOU LIKE
Elegant and so well balanced tri, with abundant coat of really fine texture, correctly proportioned head with good stop, large, well fringed ears, sensitive expression, good level topline and high tailset, excellent angulation fore and aft giving free straight extended movement. RDCC
2. Gornall`s TINKLEBURY GLENBOGLE
B/w of very similar type, with attractive head and gentle expression, huge well-fringed ears and a good coat.. Just did not extend as well as 1 on the move.
3. Stanbury`s INIXIA CROWN JEWEL

LD (18, 1abs)

1. Stanbury`s WILY WILLUM JW
Such a very sound b/w dog! It shows in his elegant free movement. Well-proportioned head with fine expressive dark eye and well set ears, excellent coat texture and good overall construction.
2. Thurman`s LYSANDRA`S ZXAR

OD (12, 2abs)

1. Scovell`s CH CASWELL CLASSIC TRI
A sparkling little tri dog with compelling ring presence. Correct in proportion, with a lovely outline. Not carying a heavy coat, but one of good texture. Large mobile well-fringed ears ,and a most appealing expression. Sound in construction and straight and true in movement. CC
2. Stanbury`s INIXIA TROYSDALE TIME TRAVELLER
A different type again, heavier in bone and stronger overall. Good angulation and level topline, well-set tail and fine single coat. Just didn`t quite come together on the move.

PUP IDOL - HOW IT WORKS

I`ve had some queries about how Pup Idol is going to work.

Well, I think it will be best to keep the entries till the losing date, and not put them on as they come in - that way you`re not hunting back for photos when you have to vote.

Then I`ll have to run heats, just like the real Pop Idol. I`m planning to put on twenty at a time and you will be invited to vote for your favourite - just one. If there`s a tie, I have the casting vote, but I think that`s very unlikely.

It looks as if there will be two heats. Then the winners will battle it out in a final vote....

One week left!

SCOTPAPCHAT?

I`ve set up a chat line on this site before and removed it because I was worried about it being spammed or worse - too open to abuse.

But it`s possible for me to set up an email group like Papnet - but just for Scottish Club members. After all, Scottish Papillons and their owners are unique! Wha`s like us?!

What do you think? Let me know.

PUP IDOL

I now have a fair number of enchanting puppy pictures, and I`m going to put a closing date of 31st January on the competition. So get these pictures to me as soon as possible. I`m having trouble with Papnet, so it`s best to contact me directly.

And if you did send me entries before the 7th, when the computer died, I think it would be safest to send them again......I lost everything for Pup Idol then as I hadn`t had time to get them on to the external hard disc.

BACK ONLINE!

I have had a computer meltdown and am just back online after a complete reinstall.

I`m sorry, but all the photos submitted for Pup Idol were lost. I would be delighted if the people concerned would resubmit them - they were lovely, and I would like to get the competition going again.

PUP IDOL ! - no, not quite like that....... Posted by Picasa
......more like these! I`m looking for pictures of cute puppies, and here are a few examples to start you off, beginning with a very relaxed 9 day old little girl. Posted by Picasa
"I know I`m cute!" Posted by Picasa
"Once I`ve eaten it I`ll know what it is..." Posted by Picasa
"Pay attention!" Posted by Picasa
Not too sure.... it`s a big world out there... Posted by Picasa
" What can I get up to now?" Posted by Picasa

PUP IDOL !

I thought we could have a little competition to liven up the bleak winter days of January.

What I`m looking for are puppy pictures. No, not posed pictures of your show puppy. This isn`t that kind of competition. These pictures will be of baby puppies and will be judged ENTIRELY ON CUTENESS. The photo that wins will be the one with the "Awww!" factor.

I`m hoping to set up a poll on the site so that YOU will be able to vote for the winner.

It`s probably best if you can email the photos, although I`ll take them in any form and of course return anything that is sent. I`ll limit you to three pictures per person.

There is a mystery prize!

Now come on - you know you have these pictures! Everyone photographs baby puppies. And remember - the cuter the better! I`ll keep the entries anonymous and just number them, although you can send in a caption if you like.

And of course - they don`t have to sing!
